The legendary John Cooper is well known for being the first aftermarket tuner Mini. A few years later, John Coopers Mini Cooper S triumphed at a considerable amount of prestigious racing titles. This has laid the foundations for the Mini Cooper S JCW. Even after the involvement of BMW, the JCW's is one of the most iconic cars of today.

The history of the JCW all began when Charles Cooper and his son John Cooper founded The Cooper Car Company in the December of 1947. Throughout history we have seen the Mini Cooper rise through the ranks as a racing car, and then becoming one of the most iconic cars available.

John Cooper went onto to triumph in both the Formula 1 World Championship as well as the Constructors Championship.

Later, The Cooper Car Company went onto installing new brakes and a far more responsive steering as well as a far more powerful engine that completely revolutionised the entirety of the Mini Cooper. The improvements were put on display at the Monte Carlo Rally, which led MINI Cooper a success globally, winning more competitions in the years that followed.

Despite the success of the Mini Cooper, production seeded in the late 90's. Nevertheless, with BMWs backing and support, the Mini Cooper was revamped. Along with the revamp came the John Cooper Works name. Working alongside Johns son Michael, the Mini Coopers heritage was brought back into the picture.
